Peniel Baptist Church is committed to missions and the Biblical mandate as presented by Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20. The Mission committee of PBC will encourage, promote, and facilitate missions’ activities, and keep church members excited about missions.
The church has an aggressive Missions ministry with a significant percentage of its local Aruba budget committed to financially support international missions’ activities. Several pastors, missionaries, and Christian organizations are supported prayerfully and financially through the Missions Committee of Peniel Baptist Church.
Local Aruba Missions activities include periodic house to house visitation, track distributions, personal evangelism, and summer Vacation Bible School (VBS).
In July 2008, Peniel had its first VBS which was led by a visiting team from Nassau Bay Baptist church (NBBC from Houston, Texas) including NBBC’s pastor David Fannin. Over 90 children and youth attended the VBS with a result of over 30 decisions for Christ. Peniel continues to hold the VBS each summer, and has seen many children and teenagers made confessions of faith in Jesus Christ.
Peniel also organizes and facilitates Music Evangelism and Missions during the annual visits of Craig Hearn. Pastor Cedric and his wife traveled with Craig and his wife to Curacao in 2008 to encourage Curacao’s pastor Wilfred Antersijn and the saints there. Craig Hearn, who is a gifted saxophonist from the Woodlands in Texas, began his first mission trip to Aruba in summer 2006, and has continued to return every year to evangelize the lost, minister, encourage, and edify the saints in Aruba with music and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Craig is President of Burning Hope Ministries. During Craig’s visit, we have evangelized and ministered through music at various free concerts at the YMCA and various churches, ministered at the Aruba jail, and have also evangelized in the streets.
